The Christmas markets on Mlýnská kolonáda in Karlovy Vary will start on November 30th and will last until January 1st.
In addition to the stall sales, the colonnade will also host accompanying events with performances by regional artists and leading Czech interpreters.
The Christmas tree of the city will sparkle on the square in front of the Thermal Hotel. The ceremonial lighting will take place on Sunday, December 1st, at 6:00 PM.
The Christmas market on the square in front of the Mlýnská kolonáda will be adorned with trees from the spa forests, and visitors will also find a wooden nativity scene and a bell from the workshop of the Karlovy Vary Forests and Parks. The market will offer Christmas decorations, handicrafts, wooden toys, but refreshments, including mulled wine, punch, mead, trdelník, traditional Czech lokše, langoše, and sausages, will dominate among the fifteen stalls. The Christmas market stalls will be open from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 8:00 PM, on weekends and on December 25th and 26th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On Christmas Eve, they will open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
As part of the accompanying program, stars of the Czech music scene will take turns on the large stage in front of the Mlýnská kolonáda, along with local artists and children from kindergartens and elementary schools in Karlovy Vary and musicians from the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra are preparing their performances.
During Advent weekends, the nearby Castle Tower will be dedicated to children. They will find popular creative workshops there, open from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Christmas train will travel through the streets of the city, a decorated and illuminated bus will run on public transportation lines, and the Diana funicular will be dressed in a Christmas attire.
