The Japanese Garden
The Japanese Zen Meditation Garden was built in 1998 according to the design of Japanese garden architect Dr. Kanji Nomura. The garden was created in honour of Dr Erwin von Bälz, who helped lay the foundations of modern medicine in Japan. The garden's circular layout symbolizes the principles of yin and yang. The white gravel depicts the sea between the eastern and western hemispheres, with the stone of Goodness in the middle connecting East and West.
